“Something about Black culture that I just find amazing is that through all the heartache and pain that we have with us, we still find a way to celebrate the good and the little things in life. I always feel like I have a lot on my shoulders but when I get to hang out with my Black friends, I just pour out my heart, and I know that they’re listening and they understand where I’m coming from,. it always makes the next day worth living and looking forward to. So I definitely think just how strong we are, just how proud of who we are and where we come from, no matter the odds of the things that have tried to defy us or break us down, we’re like a fighting group that never gives up and just remains strong”. -Rosine
“I think a lot of people focus on some of the negatives and the hard things that come with being a Black person, but I think it’s beautiful being a Black person. We need to share that more often, that we have our own culture. I literally come from people who had their culture stripped from them, but then when they were finally free, they made their own culture. Like they came up with on their own. And that is what Black culture is in America. I love that I get to be a part of that, and celebrate that. I’ll be able to share it with my kids, and I love that I come from people who were able to think of their own culture. I love everything about Black culture, From our hair, to our music, to the clothing, and how influential we are in American culture.” -Rachel
